This is a large one story fire resistive building with the exception of small section at front end which has wooden roof, slate covered. Exterior walls are limestone; roof reinforced concrete; interior division walls are brick and cinder block.
Building contains well equipped carpenter shop with small amount of painting, shellacing, varnishing and finishing. All woodworking machines equipped with patent blower system and metal conveyors, discharging to detached fire rsistive shaving vault. It is reported that shavings are carted away from vault regularly. Small amount of lumber drying in steam heated fire resistive dry kiln at north end of carpenter shop. The main supply of lumber is stored in detached frame, metal clad shed.
Building also contains foundry with concrete charging platform around cupola. There is also well equipped machine shop; also airplane shop and supply room.
