It is Figure 108 in > the recently published book "Mason Steam Locomotives" > (Heimberger House, 2004) by Arthur W. Wallace. Wallace > identifies it as the 519th locomotive built by the Mason > Machine Works of Taunton, Massachusetts, #87 of the > Atlantic, Mississippi & Ohio Railroad, Va. & Tenn. > Division. It was delivered October 27, 1873, was of 5' > gauge, with 16 x 24" cylinders and 54" drivers. Weight is > listed as 65,200 lbs. but some sources indicate 64,900 lbs. > Just thought you might like to be able to identify > this "unidentified" locomotive.
